Advanced System for Internet-based Collaboration
Project Proposal |
Title: Advanced System for Internet-based Collaboration |
Type Details: The University of Strathclyde has developed and patented (internationaly) a technology which allows any computer application to be used for collaboration, shared by an unlimited number of users over Internet connections in real-time through the use of simple browsers. The technology uses an embedded approach and differs radicaly from the usual Internet based collaboration software in many and fundamental ways. Innovative techniques ensure that, during sharing, control of personal computers is retained by all users and at all times. It also permits multiple simulaneous input by more than one users as well as allowing privilged users to paticipate in more than one
sharing session at the same time. Several other innovative
features exist which make this product totally unique.
Based on this infrastructure we are now seeking to develop an Intelligent Flexible Tool for multiple user real-time interaction, distance cooperation and co-working. The development should be easily customisable to a wide-variety of applications and tasks and should incorporate advanced features of trail auditing and collaboration tools. Innovative techniques ensure that, during sharing, control of personal computers is retained by all users and at all times. This ability alone renders this system the perfect tool for real-time interaction for controlling and overseeing distance learning users and for providing web-based tutoring to multiple users.
