Title: Telecommunication Environment with Scalable Architectures for Broadband Adaptive Home Networks (TESLA-BAHN) |
Type Details: The proposed project is focusing the activities for conducting a multidisciplinary and integrative, state-of-art research project to implement innovations in broadband and ultra wideband technologies for the future adaptive global networks. In particular we are targeting adaptive and scalable architectures for home networks that allow co-existence and interoperability of different technologies (e.g., wireless, wireline, satellite, optical). The following key topics are proposed for investigation:
1. Scalable architectures for adaptive home networks (AHN) in IPv6
2. Co-existence and interoperability of different broadband technologies
3. Reliability of AHN
4. Security of AHN
5. Quality of Service (QoS) in AHN
6. Customer added value services for AHN
7. Optimization the AHN infrastructure and cost related issues
8. Mobility in AHN
9. Integrating hypermedia support into various types of information systems
10. Integration of AHNs into a specific area network
11. Building a common SW platform for different interfaces technologies in AHN
12. Building flexible and competence AHNs for e-Business and eGovernment and open platform for educational and training purposes.
13. SMEs/Universities integration and use of AHNs for research and innovation, research infrastructures and since/society related issues
14. Smart use of energy resources for AHNs
We are aiming with this project to integrate different thematic priorities in FP6 to cover many important aspects for the future broadband AHNs, and we are going to perform this by creating interdisciplinary collaborative community of skilled experts, professors, students, as well as SMEs and large companies. We are also targeting with this project world competitiveness by providing economic and technical performance, business efficiency and flexible infrastructure. |

We are planning also a part of TTs research and development (R&D) activities to be in Politecnico di Torino, Turin, since we have strong relationships with the Department of Electronics, which is one of the most important research centers in area of Electrical Engineering in Italy.
