Dear ACM Member, Welcome to the March edition of ACM MemberNet. USACM, the public policy committee of ACM, held its annual summit in February. We report on the key technology issues they discussed. Among the many sessions and events held at the SIGCSE 2004 conference, we report on the Student Research Competition and a panel addressing offshore outsourcing. ACM and Microsoft are sponsoring a CRA-W mentoring program to reach out to and retain women grad students in Computer Science. ACM is also sponsoring the 14th Computers, Freedom and Privacy conference, focusing on "Who's Watching the Watchers," next month. The JETT program, a series of workshops being held at universities around the US to prepare high school teachers for the Advanced Placement Computer Science program, continues to see enthusiastic participation. Finally, ACM wants you-to vote for its top office holders, recruit new members, and take advantage of the new courses recently added to its expanded PD Centre. As always, we welcome your comments about the content and format of MemberNet. Please email the editor at mn-editor@acm.org.
