Dear ACM Member, Welcome to the January edition of ACM MemberNet. We report on the results of a poll asking ACM members whether they support an ACM policy statement opposing new government restrictions on access and use of data collections. ACM has been stepping up efforts to promote Computer Science education in public schools, colleges and universities. In this issue, we report on ACM's involvement in RoboCupJunior, as well as its curriculum initiatives for K-12 and associate degree IS programs. ACM is also expanding its role in the Grace Hopper Celebration of Women in Computing. Thirty outstanding members are named to the prestigious ACM Fellows list. And USACM looks back on ten eventful years of helping to shape computing policy in Washington. Last but not least, we're starting off the new year with a new design. Let us know what you think! As always, we welcome your comments about the content and format of MemberNet. Please email the editor at mn-editor@acm.org.
