Dear ACM Member, Welcome to the March edition of ACM MemberNet. Many important conferences are fast approaching, and we preview one of the biggest: the Federated Computing Research Conference (FCRC), a "meeting of the minds" of researchers from a diverse array of disciplines from parallel programming to computational geometry. Although the Supercomputing Conference (SC) doesn't take place until November, the organizers of SC Global, its collaborative component, are already seeking creative content for presentations that will be broadcast around the world. We'll tell you how to submit your proposal. The Student Research Competition presented a unique opportunity for one Saudi Arabian woman doctoral student. We profile this second-place winner. Participation in the International Collegiate Programming Contest increased by 30 percent this year. We report on the World Finals winning teams. There are many opportunities open to ACM Student Members: free online technical courses (sign up by June 30) and a special student ACM membership transition rate for those who are graduating. As always, we welcome your comments about the content and format of MemberNet. Please email the editor at mn-editor@acm.org.
